Janet and Bob Leslie created the JL Foundation nearly two decades ago to help leukemia patients with expenses not covered by insurance. The started the foundation after their middle daughter,Jennifer, died from leukemia at the age of 31. As of August 31st, the JL Foundation had provided $1,750,037.39 in direct assistance to 680 Louisiana leukemia patients for out-of-pocket expenses like gas, food and lodging that insurance companies don’t cover.
