The 210-foot-tall Cinclare Sugar Plantation smoke stack rises above the old mill at sunset in Brusly, La. Once a thriving “company town” and the last mill to operate in West Baton Rouge Parish, Cinclare closed in 2005. The whole complex was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1998 for its significance in industry and agriculture.
