The Church commemorated the 100th anniversary of our Lady of Fatima’s first appearance. Virgin Island is a small island across the bayou from the church dedicated to the Blessed Mother. The parishioners of St. Joseph the Worker have a strong devotion to Mary and believe the Blessed Mother has intervened over the years to save lives in many natural disasters.
