A statue of Amédé Ardoin is located on the grounds of St. Landry Visitors Center. The statue, created by sculptor Russell Whiting, honors Ardoin who is considered one of Louisiana’s most influential recording artists. The statue shows Ardoin with an outstretched hand holding a lemon, which Ardoin always carried to keep his voice strong.
