The Dixie Center for the Arts is located on North Vienna Street in downtown Ruston, La. Dixie Theatre began as the Astor Theater in 1928. It was sold five times in its history, survived a fire in 1933, and the challenges of the Great Depression. Although it has seen many changes, the legacy of the Dixie continues in Ruston.
