  • The Pentagon Barracks is a complex of buildings located at State Capitol Drive at River Road in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, in the grounds of the state capitol. The site has been used by the Spanish, French, British, Confederate States Army, and United States Army and was part of the short-lived Republic of West Florida. During its use as a military post the site has been visited by such notable figures as Lafayette, Robert E. Lee, George Custer, Jefferson Davis and Abraham Lincoln.

The building stands 450 feet tall making it one of the tallest capitols in the United States. It is one of only four skyscraper style capitols in the country and one of only nine capitol buildings without a dome.  The building contains 249,000 square feet and sits on 27 acres of landscaped grounds.

  • Louisiana State Capitol Grounds in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. The Capitol building is a 34-story, 450-foot Alabama limestone-clad skyscraper and is an excellent example of a greatly simplified classicism with Art Deco details that were in vogue for monumental buildings in the late 1920s.
