  • Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church in Cameron, Louisiana was heavily damaged by Hurricane Laura. In front of the church is a shrine of Mary surrounded by four angels. The command, do not harm my children is inscribed into a plaque at the front of the shrine. As Cameron’s population continues to decline the church faces an uncertain future as diocese officials consider if it can afford to rebuild in the wake of another devastating storm.
